Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties put their money where the miracles are during the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising campaign.

Locally, Walmart and Sam’s Club stores raised $122,096 for Children’s Miracle Network of NNY at Samaritan. This is a 41.53% increase over last year which raised $86,271. The Watertown Walmart alone raised $41,262 and is in the top 20 fund raising stores for Walmart nationwide. The effort was part of a national campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals which resulted in $36,510,164 million raised, putting the total raised in the U.S. and Canada since 1987 over the $1 billion mark.

Funds raised during the Walmart and Sam’s Club CMN Campaign provide financial assistance to local families with a child facing a medical crisis for travel expenses and other out-of-pocket medical costs – a program unique to Samaritan. In addition, funds will be used to support child-centered areas of Samaritan through the funding of capital projects and purchase of critical pediatric equipment.
